A Message from Superintendent Greg Baker
Dear Happy Valley families,
I want to share a leadership update with you.
I am excited to announce that Kelly Gouveia will be the next principal of Happy Valley Elementary.
Ms. Gouveia (formerly Ms. Morgan) currently serves as the Dean of Students at Lowell and Geneva elementary schools. She will transition to her new role over the summer.
Before stepping into the dean position in 2022, she dedicated more than 20 years to teaching kindergarten through second grade at Birchwood and Cordata elementary schools.
Ms. Gouveia holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree in liberal arts and science from the University of Washington and earned her teacher credentials from Western Washington University. Most recently, she completed her Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University.
A positive and student-centered leader, Ms. Gouveia is deeply committed to fostering equity, supporting high-quality instruction, and building strong, meaningful relationships with students, staff, families, and the broader community. We are excited to welcome her to Happy Valley and look forward to the leadership and care she will bring to the school.
Please join me in welcoming Ms. Gouveia to Happy Valley and wishing Mr. Hayes all the best in his next chapter at Options High School.
Greg Baker
